Thread Starter
On my computer tower the power and hd activity led are blue and I was wondering if I could just cut the old ones strip the wire and heat shrink on new purple ones?

Its 5v pr 3.3v im not sure, you can use a multi meter to check, and low current so you will have to make sure you get the right led and resistor

If you want bright 12v leds try this...

The power and HDD LED headers use TTL (transistor-transistor logic) signals which is current limited to ~20mA with a floating "high" voltage of 2-5 V (generally 3.3V). As such, almost any LED with a forward voltage between 2 and 5 V (1.8 V should be fine) can be used without any resistor.
