URGENT!! Damaged Circuit ENGTX580 DCII

Thread Starter
Hi everyone!!

I need help with my ENGTX580 DCII.
As you can see on the pic in the yellow box..
It got disconnected... I don't know when or why..
I havent had much time to spend on my PC and recently I was trying to do some overclocking and I realized I only have one fan showing on 'GPU Tweak' and other softwares when others have two fans to monitor and control.
Both of my fans are working. But i dont know if both are spinning on same speed since I can only monitor and control one fan.
So I took out the graphic card to check and that is what i have found.

Can someone please tell me what that part is for??? what does it do??
Is it something very important???
Is it easy fix???
what happens if i use it without fixing it???

Im pretty sure ASUS company wont help..

Please help me!!

I dont know what that chip does exactly, but by the sound of it, it controls the fan speed for the second fan.

In all honesty if its still working, it shouldn't matter much, but if you want to can RMA the thing, or just solder it back together yourself. It isn't hard to do.

I hope its just the fan cause I am changing to liquid cooling with rx360 + EK-FC580 DII.
And the fan.. It only showed 1 Fan from day 1 I think..I dont remember ever seeing 2 fans on and software.
But I dont want to just asume..
I can try to just solder my selfbut I need to know if its fixed after I put them together..
SO there for I need to know what it is for..

everyone say this DCII is very quiet.. It is noisy for me..I dont know if it is becasue of that.. people say no reason to go to liquid with DCII but with my cards noise? I do..

I would say RMA it before switching to water cooling. It will be better safe than sorry if it dies while the water block is on there or if something burns while overclocking from it.

You will only see one fan from your computer since they are wired into the same port on the card.

I can tell you how. You hit it with something, or something hit it with something. Take a look at the heatsink fins bud. They are bent too.

You could try to RMA or reflow the solder, or just use it as is.

Not to mention the 5 obviously bent fins on the heatsink.

you need to solder the legs back to the PCB.. its not rocket science.. just takes a decent solder iron and some steady hands.

*I would get some cheap clay or eraser to pack around the IC while your soldering.. it will protect the PCB and keep solder from getting somewhere you dont need it.

Yes, that is what I will do once i find out what it is.
I need to know what it is so i can test if it got fixed after i solder it.
If i dont know what it is..after soldering it together and asume it got fixed but it didnt it might cause bigger problem..
