12 to 16 monitors on 1 system, help please - Page 4

I hope OP isn't pulling our leg, but there are business solutions to this but they range on the fairly expensive side, we weren't told a budget were we....?... on another note, I dislike matrox products very much. I work with them and do not like them.

Edit: yes we were told a budget, lol.

Ok looks good. But what about those cards? They will not support the number of screens you'd need? And yeah a wise move to stay away from matrox. Their support in my experience has been God awful and the smoothness of setting them up is not smooth and then you gotta dedicate like a few hours of troubleshooting the matrox product. It isn't very fun. Of course if it were screens and no projectors in a theatre I bet that would be easier

You could get alot better value by not going the MD230x6's...

They are like 3k a pop... You could get 24 U2311h's for less then 4x MD230x6's and would get much better quality, I think the MD230's have the smallest bezel, but is it really worth $200 more per display?

Also, there are alot of business type deal mounting solutions, that will fit any need, I don't have links off-hand though.

Honestly, if this is for business purposes primarily, you are really misdesigning this system. Why spend the money on a maximum extreme? Get a motherboard designed for stability over gaming. Why a $100 CPU cooler? Why a $220 case? 1000W PSU, are you kidding?

Think about the 3 separate GPUs over the matrox card. 3 different points of failure, three cards sucking power where you could easily have one.

I think you should put less money on the bling, more on ram (24gig kits are easy to come by and, as long as you aren't looking for pretty dimms and killer timings, not exorbitant), get a modest 700W PSU from PCP&C (silent), use the default cooler, get a nice P180B (quiet, modest), more resilient motherboard.

Agreed... this isn't a gaming rig so don't design it like one.

Matrox market is business multi-monitors.

Does Windows still have a 10 monitor limit?

Does Windows still have a 10 monitor limit?
Some info on the topic from a quick Google:

It would seem that 10 is the limit without specialized hardware and software configuration by default. Although an engineering reference document states that if you have a monitor\\display attached to an installed graphics adapter Windows 7 will recognize it.

Sorry, I geeked on this. :-)

Here's some stuff that I found:

1. Remote Desktop=10 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...47(WS.10).aspx

2. Win 7 default = 10 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...e-a655543c0267

Multiple Adapters and Multiple Monitors

Windows 7 considers all graphics adapters that are connected to the PC along with all display devices that are connected to these graphics cards. If users connect a new graphics adapter to multiple display devices, Windows 7 enables all display devices without user intervention. If users disconnect a display device from one adapter and connect it to another adapter, Windows 7 applies the existing display settings with the new adapter. In addition, the Projection shortcut key works with multiple

Are you trying to troll or something? "Quality for a reasonable price" does not mean get a TJ10, a 1kW PSU, a Maximus extreme, a bluray drive, three video cards, and a liquid-based cooler.

If I was your customer and I received a system like this for my business, I'd be pissed as hell. Not only would you be wasting my money on things that serve no purpose, but your build would be by far less reliable than something I could have bought from Dell for half the price.

And if you're only going to limit yourself to parts you have experience with, why are you even asking for help?
