Bend the PCB or make the lens bigger to accommodate the extra inverted angle of the lens. It also introduce a whole host of tracking problems if the lens is not facing down since the image is distorted. It's merely easier to distort the source of light and makes lift off lower since the light illuminated spot moves away from the tracking view of the sensor.

this is great news

with such an impressive list of features for a budget oriented gaming mouse it means SteelSeries and Razer will have to step up their own efforts what with the very disappointing Kinzu (bum sensor but near-perfect shape) and hit-or-miss Abyssus (excellent shape and sensor, but don't know if you'll have jitter problems until you get it)

Size looks very good. The mouse overally seems good. yessir.gif

I'm able to deal with off-center sensor.

I'm able to deal with off-center sensor.

I can't really see the sensor position on the G300 as an issue. On the G500 it sucks because it over pronounces any wrist/fingertip movements because it's up so high, but on the G300 it shouldn't have a direct impact on movement like the G500 sensor position did. The mouse isn't wide - I'd say the sensor is uncentered by less than an 4th of an inch judging from pictures - so any issues with losing pad tracking should be very minimal. I never hang any part of my mouse off the pad while I play, so it would be a non-issue for me.

Actually, the bigger issue for me would be the lack of side buttons, and the abundance of smaller buttons on the top of the mouse. I've never used a mouse with buttons like that on the top corners, and I'm skeptical about how easily they could be used in the heat of battle. I'm also worried about the room left on the top buttons with those smaller ones there - I have fairly large fingers, would I be able to fit my index/middle fingers on the main buttons without resting on the smaller ones at all? Still, that's a minor gripe.

Crok, would you be able to test the perfect control speed out for me (assuming that is your g300 in the picture tongue.gif)? I'm actually pretty interested in this mouse.

What are the negative impacts of having the sensor off center like in the case of the g300? I use a puretrak talent so I never have the problem of having the mouse coming off the edge of the mousepad. I'd imagine that having the sensor off to the left or the right from the center wouldn't make a difference since you typically move your mouse in an arc or side to side direction. Shouldn't the sensor move the same distance moving in an arc/side to side? I could see how it would be bad if it is off from the center to the top or bottom as moving in an arc (fingertip/claw users) would mean a sensor to the top of the mouse would cause a larger distance moved and a sensor towards the bottom would mean a smaller distance moved. I see these as cons in the short run but as you get used to the mouse, shouldn't you be used to how much to move the mouse in order to reach what distance you need?

Also, does this mouse have acceleration and prediction? And does it have a good malfunction and perfect control speed (above 2.0 m/s)?

@mardi
Off center sensor is bad when you tilt your mouse while repositioning.
It doesn't' have prediction but we still don't know which sensor g300 has.
