GTX 570 Sli or single GTX 580? Your thoughts/experiences? - Page 2

I've had both the 570's and 580's. Two 570's will slaughter a single 580, even at 1080p - especially when it comes to games like Metro 2033 and the Crysis series. For most other games, though, even a single 570 will do just fine - and the 570 isn't really that much faster than your current 5870.

Bottom line, it depends on what kind of games you plan on playing. If your games are already playing at the performance level you enjoy, then there's not much point in upgrading.

If Surround or a 30" monitor are in your future, two 570's or 580's are good choices.

Ok thanks!
I had thought about picking up another 5870 but prices seem high even used.
And I mostly play FPS.

In that case, keep your 5870 for now. There aren't any real upgrades out there, perhaps another 5870 if you couls find one for a good price.

Yeah, with this phenomenon of Bitcoins, it has revitalized the demand for AMD cards - especially in your generation.
