More DPI is not "better", it just means that the cursor moves farther when you move the mouse. The higher the DPI, the less fine control you have. In theory, mice that are capable of high DPI settings are sensitive enough to not miss any movements, so when you set them to run at low DPI settings they may out-perform mice with weaker sensors that are running at the same DPI.
The "best" (IMO) mouse for FPS accuracy is the Microsoft Intellimouse, and that uses a 400dpi (or 800dpi depending on the version) sensor.Edited by willis888 - 8/23/11 at 10:25pm
