[ZDNet] Logitech unveils the new G300 gaming mouse - Page 4

Fixed. Your opinion or not, the "best" mouse is user preference. Hardware wise, you could argue such, there was a lot of work done around modding that mouse that made the sensor and latency great. But there is more to a mouse then its hardware. Shape (user preference), feet (user preference), button layout / buttons (user preference) are just to name a few.

For example, I think the Intellimouse is horrendous for my hands. Likewise, unless fitted with custom feet, it'll not be in my preference.

In theory, mice that are capable of high DPI settings are sensitive enough to not miss any movements, so when you set them to run at low DPI settings they may out-perform mice with weaker sensors that are running at the same DPI.
Typically, if a mouse is rated for a higher DPI, the sensor can track such.

why most companies are jumping in the bandwagon of 'that' shape of the mouse, *points at gigabyte, nzxt...etc*

Its horrible. i've thought G300 is the 'new' G3.
So much misinformation in this thread.

DPI does not equal sensitivity. It's "dots per inch." Resolution. Means you can go to higher sensitivities without losing precision. Note the "can." Because you can stay low-sens too, which would be a bit of a waste of DPI and cash.

The only true metric of sensitivity is cm/rotation, in/rotation, etc.

Looks pretty good!

Looks like a good cheap high performance mouse. Logitech builds the best input devices for the right price. I've had all of there top of the line mice and keyboards, currently sticking with the G500 because the overall superior features.
I personally won't be getting the 300, its missing buttons! side buttons! Also the design is too much of a palm grip, I won't be able to use it.

I dont know a single FPS gamer that plays with anything over 1600... (most are between 400-800)

I realize you can just do the math quick and adjust ingame for the same overall sensitivity, but some games are wack, some people are particular.

If this includes like 400/800/1600/2500 or something like that, then I say GJ logitech. the price point is great also, $39.99.
Hi, now you know a gamer that plays over 1600. I keep my G500 maxed and lower the sensitivity down in the game, makes for much smoother movements.

My G5 is maxed at 2000 dpi without the sensitivity lowered. The secret is to take the weights out, and move it with your fingers, not your palm.

2000 DPI isn't all that much. I used to play BFBC2 @ 5600 DPI with my Mamba...

Currently using 1800 DPI with my DeathAdder.
