2500k Please help

Thread Starter
Hi.

I've got my 2500k at 4.5ghz at 1.270 volts. 24 hours Prime95 stable.

What I'm trying to do is have Speedstep downclock my CPU when idle - to a 1.6ghz, which it does. That's not the problem.

The problem is, when I become active, my multiplier shoots up to 45, which is what I want, but my volts go up to between 1.380 and 1.396, which is way too high. I only need them to be at 1.270

I'm getting higher temperatures because of this and it's unneeded.

So, my question is; how do I make speedstep drop my volts to 1.270 when under load instead of them being at 1.380 to 1.396?

I appreciate any help. Thanks so much

keep in mind different chips need diff voltage. if your multiplier goes up to 45, your vcore needs to go up in order to keep up with the load and be stable. if you want a lower vcore, lower your multiplier. or do some minor tweak like the pll overvoltage thingy (i cant remember exactly what it is lol).

sounds like PLL overvoltage to me. Try disabling that and see what happens.
