P55 UD4 QPI voltage question

Hi

just been fiddling with my voltages on my p55 ud4 and came across the fact that the memory voltage settings show qpi voltage as 1.15, even though I have my vtt set at totally different voltage. Is this because I have x.m.p on? is it defaulting to 1.15 vtt? any one care to shed some light on the issue please?

The vtt/qpi votlage I hear is supposed to be within 0.5 of the DIMMs, so selecting x.m.p sets 1.65v for DIMMs, but I have also been adjusting my vtt with some effect as it stabilises higher bclks, so whats going on? ive included a screen shot from the manual, not my actual bios but it looks the same

The 0.5v rule only applies to LGA 1366.

1.15v is great actually. You'll need more the higher you overclock your RAM. I needed ~1.38v with my old 875k and G.Skill PI 2200.

aaah cool...but the question still stands what is with that 1.15qpi thing? .im at 200bclk with 1.21vtt atm in the bios , 4GHz but need 1.375vcore should i offset that with more vtt to get the vcore down? I remember using much more vtt (around 1.35) when I first got the chip and didnt really know what i was doing, think I needed 1.35vcore, is it common to use higher vtt to bring vcore down?

edit: pay no attention to my sig, thats my stock oc, it only needs 1.1vtt for 190 bclk x18 for 3.6 but upon hearing you need 1.15 "or its going to wreck the memory controller" so uped it, didnt make a difference to anything so ive changed that profile to just 1.1 again.

So do you think using x.m.p is overriding my vtt voltage with 1.15 somehow? although this doesnt make sence because changin the vtt is quite clearly effecting the bclk, otherxise I wouldnt be alble to get 200.

Its as if that qpi voltage isnt doing anything. unless they are not actually the same
