(Fixed) I think i bricked it.... (Droid 2)

I know this is a computer forum but you guys seem to know everything lol

went to check my gmail today when i went in to town (we are currently camping in the middle of no where Vermont and there is no coverage outside of town) and apparently my phone took it upon itself to delete my gmail app, so i just went to the store and re installed it. went to launch that and the entire phone froze and i pulled the battery, tried a few more times and still no go on Gmail.

I remebered doing a backup like two weeks ago so i figured i would just restore to then and it would work fine again, went in to clockwork hit restore and half way through it decided that the backup was corrupted and just stopped, now it just boot loops and wont even go into clockwork.... now what?

PS: it is a Droid R2D2 runing Liberty Gingerbread 0.8 (or it was confused.gif )

Try doing a factory reset via CWM, reset the dalvik, then restoring from the backup again.

Pull the battery out, then put it back in. Do NOT turn it on. Then plug it into a computer or the charger via usb. Once you get to the battery charge screen, press the power button.

If all else fails, you need to restore your phone with an sbf to factory settings. I would like you to stuff but I'm on my phone, kind of a pain to do so. If you Google Droid 2 sbf restore, I'm sure some directioss will come up. The sbf file itself will be over 150mb if I remember correctly. Just so you have an idea

boot into recovery and do a complete data wipe
here's how you boot into recovery without access to bootstrap:
Quote:

1. Turn Droid 2 Off

2. Press 'X' on the physical keyboard and then Press and HOLD Power button until the Exclamation Point/Android picture shows(after motorola symbol).

3. To access menu options Press the "Search" button depicted by the Magnifying glass on the Keyboard and the menu items will show up.

4. Browse options with the Volume Up and Volume Down keys and select option with the Camera button all on side.

5. Select first option of "Reboot phone" or risk messing up your brand new Droid 2!
