I say go for the Asus card. Much better cooler. Dual fans, and great exhaust. It takes up 3 exhaust slots.

Whats the debate about ? NO RISK

If you wanted to OVERCLOCK :
Look for voltage tweaks.
in that regard, the MSI TF2,TF3 will be the BEST
or any other card with unlocked voltage ( the chil controller used on custom boards should allow this)
And secondly, better cooling , more power phases (desperately pointing towards MSI again) and better mosfets/ chokes and all.
Lastly, if the card had more power input options ( like a 6and 8 pin ) that would definitely help when turning powertune to +20%

An unlock and an OC will get you up from stock 6950 levels to surpassing 2 cards in between .. the 570 and the 6970 ... second only to a stock 580GTX.
Anyway..
a 5% gain , again , on 50FPS is 52.5 FPS .. say another 15% OC ...
is about 60.4FPS see how suddenly you have 60 FPS ???
w/o the unlock *( the 5%) , you'd only get this far applying the SAME OC :
57.5
works out to quite a bit of jitter onscreen.
Don't just write off 5% , it's cumulative .
Yeah, but will the Sapphire Twin Cooler one have heat problems if unlocked and overclocked ?
