I take it the 680's gonna struggle and the 780's gonna fix all the problems just like the 580 did with the 480

Man, it seems like I'm NEVER gonna buy a video card. I keep waiting for this 28NM crap to come out and now I'm probably gonna wait another 8 months after the 600 series is released just to buy the proper fully working version of Kepler. And when that happens DX12 cards will probably come out 8 months after that. God, screw me and this stupid video card business.

I was planning on getting a 580 then said screw it I'll by the 590 or the 6990, they're gonna come out only several months later. When it turns out the 590 can't overclock for crap and the 6990 is a leaf blower, I gotta wait for fricken Kepler or to come out (which will probably be released a full year after the 590 was). And if it turns out that the 680 sucks and it's a "tester" card like the 480 was then I gotta wait another 6-8 months so Nvidia can work out all the kinks and release the 780.

Can a guy ever catch a fricken' break????????

yes... yes... competition is good! I'm actually happy both teams are innovating and bringing the goods to the table. I mean we all benefit in the long run.

Both of you should make the switch to a gtx 570. Recommended gtx 570's are the evga gtx 570 classified, msi twin frozr III, and asus tripple slot cooler DCII cards.

I don't care if it's a refresh.

Smaller die, lower temperature, lower power consumption, higher OC capability, possibility of higher stock clocks... sounds fine to me.

You stay classy Nvidia.

Let's just hope the 6xx series doesn't turn out like the 4xx series.

I've been wanting to get rid of this 280 almost ever since I got it and couldn't run Warhead or Far Cry 2 fast enough. Then the 480 came out only 6 months after I bought the 280 so I told myself I'd skip it and buy Nvidia's next release, which was the 580 in Oct/Nov 2010. When that rolled along we were told the 590 was gonna be relased in Q1 2011, so I waited even more. And when that turned out to be a stinker I told myself I'd be patient enough and buy Nvidia's next gen card. And now it seems like the 680's gonna be a repeat of the 480, not mature enough, lots kinks, tons of problems......................this really really really really really sucks and I'm sick of waiting for this crap. I know there's always newer stuff around the corner, but when the newer stuff turns out to be crap or not fully developed yet then why should I buy it????????

Haha...thanks, I guess the 570 is cheap enough ($290 where I live) to tide us over, but it'd still be such a waste of money and a frustrating purchase. I should have gotten the 580 right when it was released if I knew then what I know now.
