Just Installed first custom heatsink on my Phenom II x6 1100t

So far I just put in a new cpu cooler, a coolermaster hyper 212+. So far i've been keeping it at stock as I just got everything working and I am exhuasted. The biggest problem I had was getting the mounting bracket to install to the standoffs. The thing wouldn't go in, I was tempted to RMA back to Newegg. So far I',m getting 28 idle and 42 in Bad Company 2. The biggest difference for me is just how quitet the fan is compared to stock.

Saturday is overclock time, also Would it make a difference if I disabled two cores?

Vertical: heat sink facing down as it was the only way it would fit on my motherboard. I Probably should get a 140mm exhaust fan on my case top next or an additonal 120mm fan.

The fan should go taking the air from the front side of your case and not from the back side of the GPU, that's a problem for temps. Keep in mind the cable management, this also affect the temps.

Why did you mount it vertically without a top exhaust?

Your temps seem ok for what it is. I would not disable two cores...defeats the purpose of have a 6 core, no?

And the thermal paste is starting to burn in. I'm getting the same temps at 3.7 today as I was getting at 3.3 now.
