Heh?
This is such a misdirection it's laughable.
What does changing the world have to do with a feature in a video game?
Odd, misplaced argument is ODD and MISPLACED.

What? What the hell is this about? This is the most ridiculous idea i've seen since DRM.

No amount of fast startup can beat pressing Escape, and double clicking.

Please don't compare it to BC2, that was the saddest attempt at a server browser i've seen in an FPS, compare it to games like Counter Strike.

Think about how you can set CoD games to start in multiplayer mode, or how you can download the multiplayer section of MW2 as a seperate game altogether in Steam.

Think of it this way.

When you want to get into a game, its not the usual process of starting a game by clicking on its .exe. There is no trailers/sponsor logos etc. You dont load up "the game" to play the game...you load up the server browser, select a server, then load up a game window, which is basically just a game window for that server you just joined..

It operates more like opening another tab in your browser. Not literally, but in terms of how seamless it is, it can be described in that manner.

You can smoothly switch between the two tabs (Battlelog and the game window/client/whatever).

If you want to join a new server, you can switch to the Battlelog tab without closing the Game Window tab (or you can just close the Game Window tab) and search for a new browser while your current game is still running in the Game Window tab.

Once you find a new server, the Battlelog tab will automatically close/disconnect any current game and load up the new game/server in the background.

When its done, it will give you a "join game" prompt to click, which will automatically launch the new game in a Game Window tab for you.

Then you play the game

I hope this analogy has made it easier to understand. I hope ¬_¬

Well at least the Battlelog is better than the server browser in BC2.
But sometimes I like to close my browser so that it saves resources. With all the tabs I have and after browsing for awhile the memory builds up tongue.gif

I don't want to have to open my browser every time I want to play the game...

EDIT: To clarify, I see "In-game" as on a server and actually playing. Not sitting idle at the main-menu.

Obviously there are different interpretations of "In-Game"
Eh? what's your point saying this isn't CS to begin with? It's still a game that needs servers to play.

Sent from my iPhone 4 because I can

That would be really nice. You could use the Origin overlay to display the browser list instead of switching out of the window.

I just discovered something insanely awesome. You can use the Origin browser in game to access Battlelog. AND unlike Steam's terrible in game browser, it's actually really fast.

Dude, this isn't CS... Its still faster than BC2 where you had to go back to the main menu, then click server browser, then hit search again. Comparing it to DICE's last game, BC2, is inevitable, no matter how upset it makes you. DICE didnt make CS... At least be fair and compare it to their latest game.

Once you exit whatever server, you'd be right back at your Server Browser anyways, which this case would be an independent browser. If it makes anyone feel better, imagine it as the "In-game" menu, while humming your own Main Menu "soundtrack".

Im done. Preorder canceled. I need to be convinced before i buy this.

From the looks of it there is no main menu. The way you join a server is a web browser. Cant launch the bf3.exe. So you open origin then hit bf3 it launches firefox and you click multiplayer. Right next to multiplayer it said singleplayer and co op. If i have to do all this for singleplayer thats even worse.

Seems like they just want to generate ad revenue on their site.
