But I suppose this sort of thing is to be expected from a company that doesn't seem to know when its own products will be ready for launch and then as others have noted launches products that aren't even on their roadmaps.

If you want to have faith in them go for your life dude, I just hope for your sake the latest rumour (courtesy of an MSI employee) about yields being terrible and Bulldozer not making it to channel in significant numbers till Christmas is just a rumour, ie whenever it actually does launch it will be nothing more than a paper launch until December.

Graphics free but still bearing larger 100W TDP?
Oh come on, even I think AMD can do better than that...

What makes me curious is whether they'll have some sort of ACC-like thing for unlocking the graphics.... hey, not impossible

Once you compare one of these chips at 4Ghz+ to a stock i3 (will cost quite a bit more) then it is a completely different story. Obviously, this is only for people really on a budget and possibly already own a dedicated GPU.
So far, results of Llano on LN2 doesn't seem to indicate that it's any better than Athlon II/Phenom II in terms of overclocking. And with a 100W TDP, it doesn't seem like removing the GPU helped power consumption by much.

The issue of these being socket FM1 still remains. If these are intended for people on a very low budget, then wouldn't it make more sense for those people to save money by getting an Athlon II or Phenom II and cheaper socket AM3/AM3+ board?

FM1 also seems to be a dead-end in terms of upgrades. If a budget buyer bought an AM3+ board and a cheap Athlon II, at least there is the possibility of the board supporting Bulldozer later on. It doesn't seem like FM1 will support anything other than Llano.

Well see. That was somebody posting what they heard from a MSI employee not a hardware rep (confirmed by OCN staff) himself it posting in himself. Who knows what was "lost in translation". Furthermore, even if they are only a few chips available doesn't mean they will be unobtainable.

About launch... AMD stated was expected launch in Q2 until they changed it to Q3. Expectations can be wrong. Nobody lied. There was nothing wrong with JF saying Q2.

Anyway, this is off topic if you want to continue to discussion this we should take it to the Blog thread.

Well AMD isn't making PH II and the current Ath II anymore so they will start to become quite hard to find. Also lower end/cheaper FM1 boards will come out eventually. The LN2 stuff is 1) with a chip with the GPU enabled and 2) an "unlocked" ES so I am not sure how that will relate to unlocked, GPU less retail parts.

Anyway, these are just chips with a disabled GPU (i.e llano failures) even if AMD sells 1 chip it is better than throwing them all away.

I didn't claim they lied, I claim they don't know what's going on. I just don't know why so many people have faith in a company where this is an ongoing issue.

So far virtually all the rumours about bulldozer being delayed and bulldozer not being up to scratch have eventually come true, it doesn't bode well for this one.

Considering the onboard NB and doubled L2 cache over original Athlon 2, it's fair.

A 2ghz i3 will still mop the floor with an overclocked Llano in terms of CPU performance.

No lvl 3 cache make that big of a difference? Quard core phenom II at 4ghz beats an i3 in most things. I would assume that a Llano would do the same since its slightly faster cores but no lvl 3 cache.
