Need Help Narrowing Down headset choices

Thread Starter
I'll be concise and let you all wow me with the great advice im used to receiving.

I am looking for a headset, with microphone. My budget is $100-125. Volume/Mic level controls on the cord for easy access would be a plus.

It will be to help my buddies wife buy him a b-day gift, so I am looking for choices to give her to look at and make a final determination herself. She said he would prefer Turtle Beach, but if there is something better in the price range, I can let her know.

Useage will mainly be for XBOX Live gaming and he is someone of a nit-picker, so sound quality and comfort will be important.

Let me know if this is enough info to get you guys started on some choices. Links are helpful, but she would like to make the purchase locally so it is a surprise.

We have access to MicroCenter, Best Buy, and some local home audio stores.

for 360, I use the Logitech F540... wireless with controls on the headset. It doubles as a PS3 and PC headset as well. they hook up via Red/White audio outputs on your tv, then the headset cables to the controller... but no cable to your TV or soundsystem.

before I get flamed for recommending a USB headset for PC, let me say the primary use for these is CONSOLE gaming... the versatility is just a bonus. The build quality is damn good, and Logitech Customer Service is choice. comfortable, cancel outside noise, and good battery life.

However there is a guy selling SteelSeries 7XB's for $90 here, I have heard decent things about these.

QUALITY Xbox 360 headphones are hard to find, I have heard Turtle Beach are junk.
