some dumb games require pagefile (guitar hero, fuel), but i prefer to leave it off, in case you need to enable, use a 50mb one

I'm just changing where my temp folder is atm, Do I have to create any other folder apart from the AppData. Atm this is what it is looking like --- D:\\Users\\LUKEHO~1\\AppData\\

Is that ok, or do I need to create other folders within the Appdata folder, so like Local\\Temp.

I'd leave appdata where it is, personally I'd just move the TEMP and TMP. Just create a new folder on your HDD and go System Properties>Environment Variables and edit those two in both boxes.

For your pagefile, if you actually want to know how big you need to set it and not just have someone with no idea what software combinations your running just guess for you then grab PagefileUsageMonitor, open everything your likely to use at the same time and see how much is used - then you'll have an idea of how small you can go.

http://www.standards.com/ThisAndThat...geMonitor.html

Also as mentioned above you don't need the max and min the same size - this is a leftover from HDD's where setting the max and min the same stopped the pagefile from fragmenting, since SSD'd are immune to fragmentation you can set a small initial size and a larger max for if it's needed.

Have you moved the TEMP and TMP to your HDD?

If you run PageFileMonitor it will tell you how much pagefile is used at any time and also the max used for a session, rather than guess at a size you can see how much your actually using.

I went into the opction and all I did was changed it from %USERPROFILE%\\AppData\\Local\\Temp - to this D:\\Temp

Is that correct?

Luke, moving the pagefile to hdd will slow you down.

Set it to 1 gig min and 1 gig max size on the ssd and don't worry about ever again.
