Asus P8P67 Pro - Red CPU Led - Dead RMA?

Thread Starter
Well I have finally received my board today that i RMA'ed a couple days ago.

Check my other thread on the problem:
http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...need-help.html

I was happy that it finally came in today set it all up
everything powers up fine fans, GPU, hard drives
but the red CPU LED is on....

What in the
I've tried a couple things already such as:

1) Check that the cables are actually plugged in (duh)
2) Clear CMOS
3) Try 2 different sticks of ram 1 at a time in different slots.
4) MemOK!

I'm going to be pretty pissed if this board is DOA from a RMA
This is my first experience with ASUS and so far its been a ****ty one.
I haven't checked for bent pins on the socket yet but really not willing to at the moment.

Advice on what else to try would be appreciated.

I really hope not munaim.

The mobo now boots up stays on for about 5 seconds turns off and then powers back on as if its rebooting.
Then it will then stay on.

Just took out the cpu right now and going to try to reseat it.
Doubt its going to do anything though...

Edit:
Still nothing...

Could it be possible that my actual CPU went bad instead of it being the mobo?
I don't know If i should RMA it as well.
So confused!

Where'd you buy from? If you bought from a local store, just go exchange it. It's hard to know if it's the MoBo or CPU in your situation, so it's probably best to RMA both. I had this happen in a build 3 years ago and just exchanged the MoBo AND CPU.
