OK, more on topic. OP, its not necessary to run WC on TRI-CF/SLI, BUT, the cards run so much cooler and overclock more stable than on air. If you do go with watercooling, make sure its top end cards to make it worth the expense. The noise factor is less than a stock blower cooler. If you use GT AP-15 fans and a D5 pump, noise should not be any issue at all.
