Can't decide between cards, headphone, mic and speakers

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
Hi guys! I'm on the final stage of building my new pc, the last part is the sound system. I use my pc 60~75% games and 25~40% music but it can change to even 50/50 during time demanding weeks at college. I usually play modern warfare 2, stacraft 2, world of warcraft and league of legends. Music taste is wide.

The sound cards are a sonar dx, a normal titanium or a titanium hd.

The headphone i like more so far is the AD-700 and the mic is a zalman clip-on i saw with it as a bundle in amazon. But i'm open to suggestions. Price range for headphones between $75~$100.

And the speakers after reading here in the forums that the logitech 5.1 z506 are crap. I'm open to suggestions. Price range between $100~$200.

I hope you can help me

PD: sorry for my english, it is my second language and I wrote this in a hurry.

If you're on a budget, go for the Xonar cards. They're great and usually more affordable than their Creative counterpart.

As for the headphones, I was in a similar dilemma as you but ended up getting Sennheiser's HD555. You can get the HD555 and HD595 for under $100 now a days as they released their newer line.

I can't comment on speakers in your price range, but I can recommend the Logitech Z-5500's if you can find a (probably used) set in your price range. I have them and love them. FPS games sound especially great on them.

Hmm perhaps a work around?

Games = Cans
24/7 = Speakers?

Where u at cos shipping and availability of speakers may very well depend largely on this
