My X2 Turion gets 5 gflops on 2 threads at 1.95GHz. My i5 gets 16 gflops on 4 threads at 2.9GHz. It just seems like such a minimal advancement.
Maybe I'm out of it but the last time people mentioned flops as important scales was like 2004 for me. See real benchmarks between the two at notebookcheck.net and you'll understand just how big the difference is.
