Hey All,

Today I finally got paid and my old computer also exploded (literally. tons of melted plastic and a really pissed off momma Cavus). So heres my build!!
i5 2500k
Sony Optiarc CD/DVD Burner
Western Digital Caviar Black WD7502AAEX 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0
Asus 23.6 Moniter ** New
MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB
Microsoft ANB-00001 Black USB Wired Slim Keyboard
G.SKILL Sniper Low Voltage Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
ENCORE ENUCM-012 1.3 M Effective Pixels USB 2.0 WebCam (for chattin with the ladies)
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler

Corsair White 600T

Lastly since I either intend to SLI my 560 Ti's or 600 series at a later date should I go with CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX750 or the AX 850 (corsair)?

I've got until the morning for the check to clear and then I'm gonna buy all of it. Thanks in advance for all the help along the way!

I'd get a cheaper case and a better monitor... personal preference there though. Good luck with the build.

You've got a good basic set of components, but I have some suggestions.

1. Stick to Corsair Vengeance or G. Skill Ripjaw RAM. They're tried and tested to be reliable and work well with the P67/Sandy Bridge platform. They're the same price as every other RAM around the spec, so why not?

2. Save yourself some money and get the SATA II version of the W.D. Black. HDD's can't utilize the bandwidth of SATA III so there's no point in buying a "SATA III HDD" - it's just a marketing gimmick.

3. Any particular reason you're going with the Z68? Just buy looking at your components it's clear that you won't be utilizing the features that Z68 provides. I would go with the P8P67 Pro Rev. 3 and save a few $$

4. 600W might be cutting it close for SLI 560Ti's, but 850W is a bit overkill. The AX750 is a good choice in this case.

Other than the above, I think you'll enjoy the Sandy Bridge platform

Edit: have to agree with the above poster. 600T is quite an expensive case. You could use the savings from my above MoBo/HDD suggestions + savings from case and get a nicer/bigger monitor

Z68 is what I think I'm going to go with just because one, Z68 is newer and has some more features and I also intend to buy an SSD once they come down a tad in price.
As for the HD, I couldn't really find another one. It seems reasonably priced plus I don't really need any more than a 1TB (even that is a little much).
As for the 600T I view this whole build as an investment and if I want it to last a while I gotta go with something made with quality materials and built sturdy. IMO the extra cash is worth it for the extra quality and duration.
I also choose the RAM just because it seems pretty low profile. If the Corsair or Ripjaw is around the same size or smaller I'd happily consider it, but I heard low voltage helps utilize less power and a little more head room to up the voltage on the RAM.

Id tell you to change your dvd/cd burner to to this asus one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135204

Its 20 bucks w/ free shipping and is reliable.

Caviar black drives are good stuff. As far as ASUS monitors, I swear by them. As far as the graphics cards if you want cards get em now Im not a fan of waiting for the latest and greatest as you will be waiting forever. IF you can use the performance boost, go for it now.

As far as memory you might want to take a look at these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314

They are cheaper and offer just as good performance

Nice mobo. Cant say much about the webcam, dont know much about them and as far as the cooler, if you want to overclock id say take a look into the corsair liquid cooler/all in ones they are pretty good if you have the xtra cash.

as far as the psu id always suggest getting a bigger psu as you want to give yourself extra headroom for future upgrades and overclocking. As I said to someone else builiding a new pc you dont want to be like me and buy 3 psu's because you didnt have enough voltage when you added new parts.

youll have plenty of room for doing sli and putting in your psu if that was a concern. This is the case you were considering with 2 gfx cards:

I'm not sure about the voltage on the RAM, but I do know that the vast majority of people who have Sandy Bridge builds use 1.5V RAM (as is recommended by Intel).

As for the rest, sounds like you're ready to order!

I think I will go with that Asus reader and the ram seems good but the large heatsinks worry me.... Any other recommendations? Price doesn't really matter too much

The ax750 is totally sufficient for sli 560ti. Personally I would just go hx750 but I can't blame you for wanting better efficiency

The case is pretty pricey but I can't say it's bad, it certainly isn't. If you like the look of it go for it.

Is Pro worth the extra 15 bucks versus Home Premium? (had a Home Premium already budgeted in to my build).
