k folks here's the deal, my temps are like

so is this **** normal for a 4.7ghz run? i mean i was running it at like 1.39v but i fell asleep and ****, when i woke up i realised the cpu was at the bios page, so i figure that temps were too high, i was also smashing wow on ultra with x8 multisampling and sc2 on ultra before just watching some streaming anime before falling asleep, the comps been on for about 12 hours on that oc.

i dont wanna run any benchmarking tools cause then i wont have a cpu to use so i'd rather just run games on highest specs and lower voltage accordingly.

however all my other settings besides the dram which i set from auto (1.667) down to manual at (1.500), and the frenquency from (auto) to (ddr3-1600mhz) are set on auto. I disabled ce1 ce2 ce3, speed spectrum, limit cpuid max and enabled internal pll voltage, execute disable bit and intel virtualization tech, but for some reason after updating the bios to latest ver my turbo option is locked (can't turn it off).

I wanna know if anyone has a p6z68v pro mb and i7 2600k who can give me some settings to work off from, i know all chips are different but i dont wanna sit on 1.41 at 4.7 if theres a lower voltage i can aim for, or if i can go back down to 4.5 at 1.2 or something would be great.

Anyone?

What are your load temps like? Run Prime95 for 15 minutes or so and record the highest temperature reached with Core Temp/Real Temp. Idle temps don't mean anything when overclocking.

Did you just randomly overclock to 4.7Ghz at 1.4v or did you work your way up?

Huh? Not sure what you mean by that...

id definatly lower that VCORE. Now intel Spec allows 1.52 V. Personally these are 32 NM chips and i use nothing above 1.38V 24/7. 1.36 is my safe limit. But again i run it 24/7 My PC is on 24/7 @ 4.4 GHZ And stable @ 1.325. I Dont use power saving cause i just like it running at 4.4 24/7.......just makes me feel special. Gotta factor in the LLC. And iv seen go up to 1.336 Or 1.320 during a Vdroop. So its safe 24/7. passed 12 hour bench........Again i had 1.310 Vcore And it was stable for 7 hours 52 min b4 error in prime95. This clock is 12 hour blend stable + IBT x 5 on maximum. Id like to test lower VCORE and try 1.315 or 1.320. I tried 1.325 @ 4.5 GHZ and had an error after 45 mins in prime...........my 2500k is pretty meh.
