Sound Card For JVC RX700

Thread Starter
I got my JVC RX700's today!!! AND OMG ARE THEY AWESOME! They are amazing for music and gaming, are very comfortable and still have isolation! They were the perfect cans for me, no doubt! I want to get a good sound card for my desktop to truly bring out the can's greatness... Just so you know, I am looking for both music and gaming oriented usage. I want a card which complements it well, obviously I could spend hundreds of dollars on a card, but I mean I doubt that the RX700's would even sound any better after you reach a certain price range. I was looking some cards and I think that the Asus Xonar DG would probably be my best option, with both its integrated amp and dolby headphone... Suggestions?

Whats your budget?

Xonar DX + a headphone amp would be super good.

Titanium HD would be solid (but expensive)

Refurbed Auzentech Forte would be good for gaming and music (has a headphone amp as well)

I dont think that the RX700 need headphone amp ( sure it will better, but not very much better)

IMO the DX is good , no need for the AMP , and stay away from Auzentech cards , they die after a while of usage and have bad RMA service

If you can get the Titanium HD it will be the best thing to do

Please don't buy a sound card. the ALC892 is more than enough.

A dedicated soundcard still blows it out of the water.

His opinion is different from others, so just respect it.
Soundcards do make a differecnce to me but just so the OP knows, you dont want a Xonar DX for gaming. A good mix inbetween the two would probably be a refurbished Titanium.

Xonar DG is a cheap price and comes with a dedicated headphone amplifier chip.
The DG headphone amp. is rated to 150-Ohms
The Xonar DX is not listed as having a headphone amplifier chip (but I'm still investigating).
Both DG and DX do Dolby.
My Xonar DX has no problem working with my Beyer 80-Ohm headphones.
The Xonar DG should do the job for you, DX would be good if you had a 5.1 speaker setup.
