Since Microsoft essentially wants to buy the market to get rid of Android, I guess we should all stop buying Windows then!

What I meant about "ethics" was human trafficking, slavery, etc. Not business ethics, because nearly every business breaks those. No company is clean.

If you want to be a "righteous consumer" who is against greed and all the evils of this world, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything to buy!
I don't approve of Apple's doings, in fact I condemn them. But I'm not going to stand around and pretend like every other company doesn't do it.
This has been going on for a while now. This has been going on before the news of Google buying up Motorola.

Quote:
The claims and counterclaims cover dozens of patents and a range of products and software made by each company, but the most contentious focus on Motorola's use of Android. [ID:nN10243717]
Not to mention, it's a dispute between both companies. Not just one suing the other. Just because they can block the sales of whatever product, doesn't mean that they will. They will probably end up making said company pay royalties.

I am using this ancient device, it was around before the iphone 4 and guess what, it looks like any other touch screen phone whether is an iPhone or a samsung

Right now Apple is just pushing the line on how far they can create their ultimate monopoly.

Samsung will be sued over this design, for sure. BASIS: Manufacturing a phone that resembles concepts Steve Jobs had of the iPhone before there was an iPhone. Oh yea, for being a successful competitor (supplier) too.

EDIT: Sorry for the rant, just getting sick of these strategies Apple is deploying - the thing that makes this even more distasteful is that it's not like Apple is trying to save itself from economic hardship or collapse and doing anything to survive; instead, they're stunting the advancement of the most necessary tools, albeit aside from our wits, in the world (communications devices).

If anything, Samsung is copying the design of its legacy devices to be used for its current generation phones. Take a look at the general design of the bezel, as well as the presence of three buttons with the center as rectangular in shape.

"Unfortunately, it's very hard to reliably trace metals to mine of origin and verify that they are conflict mineral free." That's Microsoft's excuse. They're on the track to preventing it, as is Apple. Actually, Nintendo seems to be one of the worst (as they always are.) Not much I can do about it.

But seriously guys, I'm not an Apple fan. I don't have an iPhone. I don't have an iPad. The only Apple product I have is an old iPod touch I don't use. I'm just saying that if we're upset at Apple, shouldn't we be upset at Lenovo and Samsung and other companies with just as bad records (in terms of conflict materials) and Microsoft, Sony, and Google (in terms of lawsuits)?
So if you neighbors condone slavery, and human trafficking you would be forced to oblige because you ant to fit in? A great politician we have here.

Apple will probably get a slap in the wrist for it.

Soon apple will be suing William Shatner over the use of a mobile device in a certain Tv show.

Don't tell me Steve-o had the design in mind when he was still a kid.

So, what do you do to stop human trafficking, eh? Are you gonna give up your computer, your cameras, your phone? That's not the way life works.

Heck, if I could I'd fly over to the Congos and help right now. In fact, some day I may. But to stop buying things A.) hardly benefits anyone, and B.) is impossible to do without completely turning your back on modern society due to the amount of companies that do it.

I'll tell you what, you destroy your Sony camera, and I'll never buy an Apple product again. Deal?
