[PCWorld]Apple Again Cites Inaccurate Evidence in Samsung Patent Case - Page 6

Patents do not allow for simple changes like making it bigger so I see no problem with this from a legal standpoint
They didn't just resize the Galaxy Tab, they changed its aspect ratio to make it look more like the iPad.

In any case, if Apple thought their lawsuit was strong enough as is, why would they alter the size of a competitors product? Sounds like desperation to me.

Problem is, the Galaxy S series copied from Samsung's previous design on its Samsung Star touchscreen phone, complete with the metal bezels and trade mark three-button layout with a rectangular one in the middle.

Even worse is in the case of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, where Apple intentionally changed the aspect ratio from 1.46 (widescreen) to 1.36 (letterbox) to fit its claims of "copying" the iPad.

I have never bought an Apple product and never will due to there shocking business practises, They are scared of good competition.

Remember when patents were for protecting inventions and not controlling the market? Sigh...

There should really be a change to the way patents and trademarks are approached with the advances in technology. I really don't care if an iPad or some Galaxy Tab are the same size or what. "Cool story bro" if you got there first Apple, but how else are people supposed to make a tablet? Slap a keyboard and mouse on it? All cars are the same basic shape too, I pick one based on what it offers me. Should GM be suing Honda because they have a vehicle with four wheels and a bed in the back to declare the shape of a truck?

What a joke.

My iPhone 4 will be the LAST Apple product I ever purchase, and it may not even make it through this month.

Falsifying evidence? And people trying to make RATIONAL sense out of that? REALLY?

There is absolutely no valid or serious argument that can be made for such a giant technology company to "accidentally" alter evidence in such a way, it would simply be laughable to suggest it wasn't on purpose.

I have no idea how Apple gets such special treatment in courts. If I were suing a major company like, lets say Nokia, over the "look and feel" of their product to something I designed and marketed myself, and I had altered such visual evidence, they would jump all over me, call me a scam artist patent troll and throw my case out in seconds of it coming to light. Heck, I might even see jail time for falsifying evidence.

Apple on the other hand, somehow has a slim chance of pulling this off. You just never know when it comes to Apple.

Sorry to Apple fans and fanboys for the Apple hate, but c'mon... C'MON!

Edit>

Well, you gotta draw the line somewhere at least... It's just that Apple seems to be a bigger offender of such tings more often than others... It's not like we pick on Apple just for fun. There's a reason people come to hate Apple, and for most, I see it as justified.

If apple deliberately doctored the evidence to sway the courts, the case should be tossed immediately and Apple should get fined.
