Still Processing, but here's the first in a series of videos about making the panel.

I knew you would find a way. I just needed to take away your worry that I wouldn't like it. You are too much of an artist to go half-hog.

I like the way your mind works CyberD. I believe that your transition from the reworking written word to actual reworking of material shows a clear attachment.

That's why I wanted it done by you. We Jews do not easily bow, but I bow to your superior wordsmithery. xD

And now I see that I need bow to your modsmithery as well.

This looks amazing. The shine is remarkable and I knew that there needed to be a catch.

If you can't sell the case or if you take some loss on it then add this to my bill my friend.

No Wai

You've already paid enough for this piece of plastic my friend. I've got a couple of nibbles on the case already through YouTube. It's a well engineered box. I wish I had an excuse to build myself a rig.

Now my worry is painting this piece of work. It ain't over till it's over...and there's more ways to screw up than there are ways to get it right

But now I have an excuse to buy some pin striping tape. It's been about a decade since I had any reason to use that stuff. It's so much fun.

Plan is to lay out the "blind" area with some blue tape, then use that as a guide for the no-creep green pin striping tape that leaves a crisp edge. Then I can build back into the "window" area with the usual blue tape, and mask of the edge with the green, then protect the front with plastic film and more blue until I have the whole thing swaddled up like a patient getting some cosmetic surgery.

I plan to make the window area outline/profile follow the profile of the panel...maybe an inch wide black border. Then that will blend into the all black area that hides the drive bays.

I had the choice of a lot of cases with fancy door work, but this case was what I wanted. Where I live there is not much scratching.

If you do not charge me for the actual hours and fall to an approximation, then I will be insulted. I make ~150/hr (well, it breaks down to that inclusively).

I will not change my pricing due to the cost of the modular subsystems initial cost. My pricing is after the work, not before. Before is simply a down payment.

My father told me to count my hours as diamonds but share them as they are coal.

Count away dude. xD

Glad you are happy with the idea. Just got back from NAPA with the required tape. I'm going to do some tests first. Stay tuned.

Here's Phase Two

Here's Phase Four

I have a long compilation of all this uploading/processing.

My message box is flooded.

Unfortunately none of the flood has anything to do with orders for an all acrylic side panel for a Corsair 600T.

Anyway...I did the paint tests and I have pretty much settled on a black with a slight metallic sparkle to it. It's a little darker than the exterior but has the same "feel" to it. I tried a dark charcoal and a graphite and both were a lot lighter than the exterior...thatsa no good.

So sometime today this project will be complete.

very interested in maybe getting one of these for my case, although being the Special Edition one, i'd be trying to figure out how to match the white lol

If you mean matching the case and the painted panel then I would say it's as simple as using white paint if you want it match the exterior or black paint if you want it to blend into the interior. Either would look good. Even though it might not be an exact match the gloss of the acrylic changes the way the paint looks enough that it's not really an aesthetic malfeasance.

I think I am now awake enough to set about masking off the panel. Should have some interesting pics to post this afternoon
