worth going from my IPS to a CRT for comp gaming.

Thread Starter
As title says is it worth going from my IPS panel (60hz) to a CRT monitor for competitive gaming.

I would use my normal monitor when gaming leisurely.

But i want to get back into TF2 as Scout/Sniper, so yes.

If so what monitor would you suggest? Id prefer something under 250 - 300.

Lower the better as im trying to get my surround set up as well with my reg monitor.

Probably not, unless you can find a good one for cheap. By cheap, I don't mean $250-300. There isn't enough benefit to blow that much on a CRT.

6. Realize the IPS is still much better.
7. Throw away CRT.

No, but seriously. If you can find a good CRT for a great price, go for it. Otherwise, it's probably not worth it.

Yes I notice an improvment in TF2 more than any other game when using my CRT.

What city/state do you live in?

It's not the best BUT it's pretty good and local to you. If you just want a second monitor to play TF2 on I think you will be very happy. Keep in mind this thing takes up alot of desk.

And try to talk him down on the price (under $100 is way more reasonable)

Not very sure from that info. Is that not the curved 24" WS tube that can only do 1920x1200 on 75hz?

I would much more recommend some flat 21"ers if they are available, and they usually are.
