ive been looking at that laptop also. it looks amazing, except carefuly read the reviews. while spec wise for the price its amazing, it seems poorly built, they keep breaking left and right.

its just right price and what i want too im just hesitant about them having issues

I have a G73sw-xn2 and it's a pretty stout machine coupled with an SSD. Both the G53 and G73 are heavy machines, knowing that I would suggest you opt for the larger screen. Gaming on a 15" is tough, and given that they are both already heavy and not truely "portable".

Someone said everything is playable on "Ultra" with the GTX 460m, which is totally not true. You can play Source engine games on ultra, but most other games medium-high is generally what you can expect with no AA. Just the same though, it's a laptop that you can take anywhere and play any game at reasonable, if not really good frame rates.

The Best Buy versions are gimped. Lower resolution (1600x900 as opposed to the 1920x1080) and a lower quality screen. What good is a bigger screen if it has less resolution?

Also, the GPU is gimped, and you don't get ASUS's great 2 year warranty.
