phenom x3 8850b o.c. help

Thread Starter
Yes I have a phenom x3 bb50b triple core in a asus m4a785-m motherboard and would like help overclocking.
I have read some threads from various places on how to overclock but nothing specific to my machine.
By fooling around with the bios I got it up to 2.750 when stock is 2.5 for this cpu.
But it would not load past bios so I just reset everything back to factory.
And I felt that an extra .250 wasnt really worth it.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

The 8850BE is a really rare chip. I used to have the 8750BE.

What voltage did you try for the chip, and what sort of cooling do you have?

These chips typically hit their at 2.9 - 3.2 GHz, and you'll probably need around 1.45v to achieve this.

i have 2 case fans, 1 onboard graffix card fan, 2 more fans on a pci card for the graffix card and the cpu has a fan attached to the heatsink
as for the voltages i am unsure what i did i think it was around 1.3-1.4v
