U2311H getting replaced with U2312HM? - Page 3

I'm in the middle of reformatting but gonna give a quick update from my Touchpad.

Packaging was Dell's standard ordeal. The monitors themselves seem very light but are sturdy and the stand is super easy to put on and what not.

The picture looks great. Both displays are uniformed and are practically identical in picture. There's no backlight bleed and both monitors look the exact same on a black background. Angles I'm not sure what is the usual for IPS monitors. There's a light blue glow at side angles but I think that could be fixed by turning down the brightness and what not. I haven't messed with the settings or anything yet. I played some BC2 for a half-hour before my SSD came (it came UPS, monitors were Fedex) and the colors were amazing. Contrast ratio's seem great and made it very easy to see people in dark area's but it wasn't overpowering or anything. I haven't modified the brightness/contrast (which are default @ 75) but blacks looked very black while still being able to see everything in detail in a dark area. I'll try and post pictures and a better review once I mess with them before but so far they seem great and I'm rather pleased.

Got Windows up and going now.

I'm still very impressed by them but one of them has much better whites than the other. In comparison, one's whites almost look greyish and I can't seem to match it up. I'm going to try tweaking it more and see if I can get them close otherwise I might try and swap the grey-tint one out. I'm not very good at monitor calibrating so if anybody could throw some tips/links my way it'd be greatly appreciated. =]

Still no pictures & stuff, I'll work on it once I get everything afloat.

I looked around to see if anyone else had bought the u2312hm i only really found this website with logistic lightly commenting about it. I also bought it but it isn't here yet but im still hoping logistic will keep us posted on his thoughts. I also haven't used the u2311h so I won't be able to compare it to that and its actually my first time getting an IPS panel even if its e-IPS. will notify you all when I get my hands on it

I still plan on doing a review...but I ordered 2 for a dual setup and the colors and monitors overall are amazing, but the whites on the 2 are completely different. I got ahold of Dell, and they sent me a 3rd one, and now it has better whites then the 2 others. I tried messing with the colors in the service panel which didn't do anything positive so reverted to normal, I messed with brightness/contrast, rgb values, everything I could really find as far as that goes and nothing I would do would make them come even close. I'm not expecting perfection but its pretty noticeable with lighter content. I'd really like to see a U2311H in a side by side comparison. :/

I just bought one for $249!!!! Call them and ask to talk to their supervisor about financing and then talk to them about possible discounts. At the end, just say you don't want the financing.

Thats what I did anyways.........
