Worth upgrading graphics card?

Thread Starter
Hi Overclock.

I only play World of warcraft, but with the new expansionen my computer is really struggling in 25-men Firelands. So im wondering if theres any use upgrading my graphics card or is it my processor that sets the limit?
Please advice on a new card if you think its worth doing to make my computer live a bit longer.

Computer:
Dell Dimension 9200
Intel core 2 duo E6400, 2.13 Ghz
3 Gb DDR2 RAM
Radeon X1300/X1550 Series, 256 Mb
375W max power supply

PS. All graphic settings are at lowest possible.

I play at 1920x1200 resolution.

You have a fairly dated computer, and since the motherboard is Dell manufactured you won't be able to upgrade your computer very well, and the performance won't be optimal.

I'd recommend saving up money and building a fairly decent gaming PC for around or under $500. It'd be able to play WoW very well.

The problem right now with your PC is if you upgrade the graphics card, the dual core will heavily bottle neck it, and you can't really upgrade the CPU since it's a Dell manufactured motherboard. Also, you have a 375w PSU, you're going to need around 450-500 watts for today's optimal GPUs on load.

Yep, a graphics card would help a lot as would overclocking your cpu somewhat.
