What kind of thermal grease have you been using? Artic Silver? Anyways get some 90% rubbing alcohol and get as much of it out as you can.Try again after you clean it up.If not you may be able to RMA them.

So, you left thermal paste on the cpu when storing it? Isopropyl alcohol could help in removing the thermal paste, if the cpu is not already fried.

I am not a troll. Can anyone give me some advice or insight into what the exact problem is?

Crazy story ... hope it works out for you, bro.

I am already going to a store later to purchase Isopropyl Alcohol and a toothbrush to clean the pins (I am following another guide for this).

I dunno, I consider dead parts acceptable loses because I have a lot of dead in the water towers that suffered a variety of failures, presenting me with still functioning spare parts that are left over.

EDIT: It was only recently that I decided to start looking into actual computer modding and building faster systems instead of just purchasing new towers.

Let us know how it goes.

My mom left without me apparently, as I was typing my replies to this. I have no vehicle at which I can travel to a store that is about a couple miles away.

I am going to be here waiting for her to return with what I asked for, and I might not even get that considering last time I asked her for foam blocks and she purchased me anti-bacterial sponges or whatever instead.
