I think prebuild with software is over rated. They package stuff with it that you will never use. Plenty of free anti virus, firewall, office products and OS's that will cut the price of a prebuilt by almost 30%. If you know where to look and where to shop, you can get software 99% off the original price. (How you take that last line is up to you)

Here's a much better build for more than $100 less (and that's without the rebates that some of the items have):

Here's the thing:
It's very easy to make a computer that has twice the hardware power of any prebuilt for the same price. It is very difficult to build a computer that has better hardware power than a prebuilt, along with including the peripherals and software a prebuilt comes with, because those big companies basically give that away.

What I usually do is buy the awesome hardware, and then do software things that I will not speak of because of the TOS. Just my 2 cents.

the ram/mobo/psu is probably low end stuff in the dell. you can't really compare it to the quality parts that some have posted. and i doubt you'll be able to overclock and have much customization options with the dell.

trulsrohk made a great build that is much better and cheaper than the prebuilt Dell even if you add in a keyboard and mouse. From my experience the accessories that come with a prebuilt are really cheap. You could add an extremely cheap keyboard and mouse for ~$30 (or less) that match the quality of the Dell accessories.
