i received an email earlier today telling me that my amazon order was cancelled. oh well.

I got mine from staples, and I really like it. At first I was kindof iffy about it, but after disabling logging and installing the new update, its awesome. Quite responsive and very nice. Sound could be a little better(goes for too much bass becuase of the beats stuff), but overall I really like it. Got the 32 gb version for 140 after my work discount, and got the case for 20 bucks. I also really liek the case, it is a must-have. great feel and can act as a stand at two different levels.

My fam bought two and they really like it. Can't beat the performance/price ratio.

Hydraulic: I thought the sound was really good considering that they're speakers from Monster.

For what, when we have a huge number of buyers who are willing to pay doubled the retail price for it? These auctions have been going on non-stop steadily at > $250 all day.

Hey just to let everyone know, I have been checking on the TouchPad's availability on officedepot's website but while doing so I stumbled across the viewsonic 16gb gtablet which has a tegra2 processor clocked at 1ghz and 16gbs of ram for 260. Amazon has them for 250 I think. Read reviews though, the biggest complaint I have read so far is the viewing angles. Just thought I would let all the bummed out people know.

You recently purchased an HP TouchPad Tablet. As you may already be aware, Hewlett-Packard has decided to discontinue this product. As part of the discontinuation, they have significantly cut the price of the HP TouchPad Tablet. Newegg wanted to contact you today and not only inform you of the discontinuation, but also give you an opportunity to benefit from the price reduction. Although Newegg is not required to match this price reduction, we are committed to keeping our customers happy and provide you with the following options.

Please read the following options carefully and respond to this email with your selection by 5:00 pm PST on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. If no response is made by that time, we will assume that you have elected Option C. These emails will be sent based on Sales Order Number. In the event you placed multiple orders for any version of this product, you will receive multiple emails and must reply to each individual email you receive in order to receive assistance.

OPTION A - If you select this option, Newegg will credit you 338.43 in the form of either a Newegg Gift Card or a credit back to your original form of payment. Please allow 4 to 6 business days for the Gift Card to be generated and sent to this email address, or the refund to appear back to your original form of payment, depending on which form of payment you specify in your response. By selecting this option, you understand that the sale will now be final and the product will no longer have any return, refund, or replacement policy rights through Newegg.

OPTION B - If you select this option and have not opened the retail packaging of your product, Newegg will provide a full refund once we receive the unopened product back . An RMA with a pre-paid return shipping label will automatically be generated for you. Once the unopened product is received, please allow 3 to 5 days for the RMA to be processed.

OPTION C - you are satisfied with the product and are not interested in any type of refund, you may reply to this email selecting this option, or simply disregard this email. If you elect or do not timely respond, the original terms and conditions of your purchase will apply.

Newegg is dedicated to your complete satisfaction. We appreciate your cooperation and attention to this matter. We look forward to serving you again in the future.

Sincerely,

^this, one thing retailers do in the business is take care of tracking inventory well.

Lets say you have a store, and that store is assigned an allocator from the corporate office. This allocator looks at trends and demographics and decides how much of a certain type of product a store will sell. Sometimes these allocators are wrong and miss the mark.

So what does a store do with all this unsold crap? Well thats what the inventory process in most major chains uses to figure out what stuff they need to return to the vendor. When a chain buys a certain amount of product, they do so contracturally with the vendor. Part of this contract is if they don't sell X amount of bought product, then it can be returned to the vendor, destroyed, or salvaged (if its a damaged product).

This is one case that ive seen where a company lets the consumer win in the end. Bravo HP.
