[Pre Central] HP Begins TouchPad Liquidation, 16GB for $99 and 32GB for $149 - Page 20

Got a 32GB model at my local Office Depot around 9:30! Yeah, it's kinda late to say it... It was $129 for the 16GB and $150 for the 32GB, so went with the 32GB! $200 for the 16GB + a 2 year warranty, $220 for the 32GB + 2 year warranty. Warranty sounds useless.

HP keeps posting the $99 and $149 pricing on their website and then pulling the rug out from under me. It's happened twice >:

Oh well, going to have to do some shopping tomorrow

I'm just going to wait and buy one in half a year at half the price. I'm sure it'll have android support by then.

Look at the Nook Color, it was falling in price until it gained Android support. Now the price hasn't really dropped. Good luck on you waiting.

That's a bit too optimistic. It's not like they'll be producing any more units. I doubt the hardware specs will be so overshadowed that quickly to push the used price or otherwise lower than these sale prices.

Going to see if I can pick one up from Target.
It's essentially sold out everywhere, and some of the stores that do have it and have dropped the price are no where near me and I don't feel like traveling to go get it.

Not to mention, the stores that do have it. Haven't dropped the price yet.

So here's my plan:

I ordered one like 30min before this whole thing totally blew up. Local pickup at Office depot, paying cash, full $399.99 price, so i have one reserved in my name. At the same time i did this they had a banner stating that they are $130 (still showed $400 in cart). Screenshotted the banner.

Then i waited around (3 hours to be exact) refreshing the page, and then bam, screenshot captured of product page with $130 price.

So now i have two pieces of evidence, and i can hopefully go claim a price match tomorrow. Office Depot EXPLICITY states in their policy that they price match their own prices, so unless the manager pulls some crazy BS on me, i think i have a pretty good chance.

wish me luck
