hmmm, decisions...decisions

It's getting so hard to pick a video card these days I get all stressed out after I buy one thinking if I made the right choice or not xD

So here's my dilemma,

My 560ti hawk started crapping out on me. My display driver constantly fails and recovers. sometimes it doesn't even recover, I just get a blue screen error when I reboot my computer (bccode 116). Brought my computer in to ncix and it seems like I got a faulty card. Now I can pick the same card, Pick a 6950 card thats around the same price, or splurge a little and get a 570.

My choices in the $250-$300 range:

MSI GTX 560 ti HAWK

XFX Radeon 6950 2gb (dual fan)

XFX Radeon 6950 2gb

Sapphire Radeon 6950 2gb

Now I'm happy with any one of those cards since there isn't much of a performance difference between any of them. At most maybe a 5% increase in performance depending on the game.

Now I could splurge a little and pick one of these GTX 570's:

MSI GTX 570 TFII

Asus 570 DirectCU II

If I end up going for one of the 570's does it matter which one I pick out of these two? Is there one that's significantly faster then the other or are they pretty much the same? If they're the same is the only difference that one is 2 slot and the other is 3?

I'm going to be playing at 1920x1080 soon.

thanks for the help

Get a 570 if you can afford it. GTX560Ti's won't be considered high-end for next year's games. However, if you can SLI them then you'll be fine. Out of the two 570's, I wouldn't get the DCUII. It's a three slot card and can be hard to SLI because of space/heat constraints depending on your case and MOBo layout.

P.S. is the 560ti you're having problems with one of those open box cards you got?

No I bought it brand new so maybe there is a problem with the factory OC or something.

If I were to choose one of the 570s I was leaning more towards the asus card because it seems like people are getting amazing overclocks with them, 900+ core. I don't think another one would fit on my mobo though so I would just have to go single card for a couple of years and then get a new mobo with a kepler card since I'm pretty sure a single 570 will last me until kepler has been released and nvidia has fixed all of the kinks and stuff with it.

Still not 100% sure what I'm going to do though.

I would lean towards the MSI 570 simply because I don't like the 3 slot cooler on the ASUS card. I would avoid the XFX cards because there non reference cards are garbage. My pick would be either 570 leaning towards the MSI card simply because of the 2 slot cooler.

Agree with above poster. I like MSI and EVGA cards personally, so to either of those. Fry's has a deal going on right now in-store for a EVGA GTX570 factory OC for $290 after MIR!
