HP Touchpad OS Question

Thread Starter
Does anybody think that it will soon be possible to get Android loaded onto a Touchpad? I would like to know since they are dirt cheap no and would like to get one and the have android. Could even replace my iPod/netbook.

Sigh.

Anything is possible with the right amount of support behind it.
This question has been already talked about on XDA.

Doubt it.

Wouldn't you think with the recent price drop, that way more developers would be able to pick one up as a side project? (cheaply)

I wouldn't place my bets on it. Is it possible, yes. But having to create a ROM from scratch just to fit the TouchPad is most likely more trouble than it's worth.

It's possible. But like I said, the only phone they have been able to successfully have boot a different OS is the HD2. And that phone has been out on the market for quite some time.

So even if they did find some way to make it work, it would be quite some time before that happened. It's not something that happens over night.

with the price point as it is and the numerous people jumpin in on HP's casualty I can see Custom ROM chefs popping up to mod this tablet and gut it for all its worth. I'd say get it while its hot and if there is custom ROM support down the road. the more power to you the end user.

Nope. Even if it is possible, I doubt you'll see it coming that quickly.
Like I said, there is only one device that has been able to successfully do this, and it's the HD2.
