How about you look at PreCentral, or start using Google.
There is forums dedicated to the Pre/WebOS.

Nice, thanks man. That beats my netbook and iPod.

Team #touchdroid… we are porting #Android to the HP Touchpad. Team consists of @ProTekkFZS , @rhcp011235, @Framework43 and me. $99 TPad FTW!
The truth is, WebOS is already running on the Linux kernel, so it isn't that difficult to port over Android OS into it. Even more so that the TouchPad already has the same kernel that Honeycomb uses. Kernel source is also available, and the only thing needed is time and effort into the drivers to run Android on it.

I find it amusing how many people who are getting the Touchpad don't even really know what webOS is. Did Palm die that silently?

As for an answer, what ^ said.

That might be the posterchild for alternate booting, but that is patently untrue. The reason most phones don't get it are as follows:

1) They have an android phone. What will they port to it?
2) They have an iOS device/WP7 device. Those are locked down at the hardware level. No good.
3) They are running old WM hardware that nobody had, and everyone was leaving, so it wasn't worth the trouble.

The HD2 was the only one to really have modern hardware that made it worth porting, but other phones received the android treatment from the WinMo days.

Like I said, there is only one device that has been able to successfully do this, and it's the HD2.
Again, not true. Also, devs are working on it. They claim it will be relatively easy.

2.3.5 most likely. It will be gingerbread. The touchdroid team has stated that they will only use the AOSP, which at this point ends with GB. Eventually, expect ICS.

No it wouldn't. They already have a lot of the base built in with the kernel.

As for honeycomb, the reason isn't because it's too new, sadly. The only reason it hasn't been getting ports for use as daily drivers is the lack of source code.

I got it for webOS. I told myself I would if it hit $250. It did, and then some . I already have android and iOS. Unless I can't stand webOS, I think it shall stay there for me.

Let's just say, things are looking smooth for right now at a kernel standpoint.
But getting beyond the kernel is going to be a hassle.
