ASrock extreme4 z68 OC problem

Thread Starter
hello everyone I'm new to overclocking but i have done my share of looking around to make sure i do a great overclock.

anyway let me get to the point. the first time i did my first OC everything work like butter.
and i over clocked my i7 2600k to 4.2 and was stable.
then i restarted my bios for some reason i do not know why i did.
then when i go to try to change the multiplier it goes to 16 which would mean 1.6 hz which i think is the smallest you can go. it will not let me type anything else in. then i fit 4 it goes to 16. i hit one number and then it types in 16 all the time.

i can change everything but that.???
anyone know why.
and just so you know i did flash my bios to 1.60 and that did not work?? and last question has anyone herd of this problem before?.

wanted to add that 55 works but not going to overclock to 5.5

Seems to me all 1155 boards have some issues. The problem the OP is explaining sounds to me like what happens in ASRock's UEFI when your overclock is so far unstable it will boot up but will freeze/hang in bios on a certain adjustment.Simply either lower the corresponding setting or clearing cmos should clear the problem.Since UEFI is new,of course there where some bugs to work out,but mine has been totally functional.

You always, always, always have to reset your BIOS before and after you update it. Otherwise it is a huge probability that you will end up with problems.
