Thread Starter
Whenever i start up TF2 the sound kind of loops. On top of that when I join a server it loads pretty fast then it just freezes. I joined a server once and it lagged and the music looped. When I try the training option it goes black and a green bar pops up across the bottom of the screen. Whats going on, and please help.

I'm new at steam, I installed it and it took a few hours. Is that normal? If I install it again will it take the same amount of time?

The game is over 8GB in files I believe. It takes a while. I wouldn't keep re-installing unless you don't have a bandwidth limit on your internet.

Start steam. Go to the "library" tab and right click on the team fortress 2 icon and select properties. From there click on the "local files" tab and then click the "verify integrity of game cache". This will check to see if you have any corrupt files. If it finds some Steam will download them. When its finished try running the game and see if the problems are gone or still there.

I did it but when it reaches 100% it doesnt do anything. It says Validating Steam Cache Files (0 of 1) Validating Team Fortress 2 files (1 of 1)

Did you try running the game afterwards? See if you still have problems.
