Hi everyone!

Thread Starter
So my name is Nick 21 years old and I'm building my first computer I've always wanted to build my own but never had the money to, I've done light programming for school and I know enough to always get stuck with fixing my friends computers haha. But in no way am I an expert or anything. I'm here to learn and get tips and advice.

On to my current rig (the one I just built)
Intel i7 860
Gigabyte P55m-UD4 mATX
16gb of MicroCenter branded ram
1 TB Seagate 7200 rpm HDD
EVGA 1GB GDDR5 gtx460
Sparkle Computers Gold Series 750w PSU
All shoved into my CoolMasters cm690 II advanced

I'm re-installing windows 7 as I type this because I accidentally installed the 32bit >_<

Plans
When I get some more money I'm going to get a SSD for my OS and apps. Which I'm still trying to figure out if I should just get 1 120gb or x2 60gb's in RAID. ??

Picking up a second 460 to run in SLI. My friend suggested that I just get a 480 and use my current 460 as a dedicated Physics card. I don't know to much about it but after a little research I saw that some games use PhysX engines but I'm not to sure. Would that be worth it for me? Or should I just run 2 460's in SLI

Then I'm watercooling the whole system.
x2 EK 460 blocks
x2 EK 460 back plates (gotta make it look pretty)
Swiftech CPU block
x4 Koolance RAM blocks (again, just for looks really)
Custom 2 level waterfall reservoir from CyberDruid
Still undecided on my pump
x2 radiators (still shopping)

I've realized that cable management is a b**** haha. The CPU power pin wont reach if i rout it behind the mb tray. So I'm gonna have to go get an extension for that. no to mention the 24pin connected is so thick it's hard to work with. I ordered some braided sleeving in black and blue which hopefully will get here sometime next week. So I'm going to be sleeving all my fan cables and other power cables. The nice thing about the PSU was that all the cords came sleeved

Thanks for reading if you actually read all the way here haha. I'll post some pics up in a little bit of my current set up.

oh and I plan on OC to 3.5ghz... you think that's a feasible goal after I water cool it?

Any comments and advice is welcomed.

Welcome to OCN! thats a feasible goal with air, with water you can get past 4ghz, further if you push it, but i suggest getting a good PSU though so it doesn't blow up on you but i think that may be good if its 80+ gold not sure if you need water on that rig, id suggest just get a silver arrow and call it a day or a H100 watercooling in a small rig like that, if you can't even manage your cables, how will you manage tubes?

I'll be able to manage my cables, I just haven't really started it yet. I've been busy with work so I haven't really been able to do to much with it. Hopefully next week I'll have that finished.

But I was just checking my temps with CPUID and it looks like the average temps i'm getting with my cores is around 55 degrees is that normal temps for stock clock and everything?
