Looking to buy a new laptop

Thread Starter
Heya! I was looking for a new laptop, and i was looking at some HP computers. HP Pavilion g6-1105so, and HP Pavilion g6-1110so. Now what is better, an intel i3 2.4GHz, or an intel i5 2.3GHz, both for school, and for work?

And, if anyone could find a nice computer for mostly work (school), but also for playing light games, for about 4500 danish kronors, and below, on a danish website i'd be delighted, or at least suggest one. (because if you find one on a british/american website, it wont really tell me the price, because everyone is way more expensive in denmark).

I think you have 2 different gens of cpu. i3 @ 2.4 would be last gen and i5 at 2.3ghz is current gen which will be more efficient and has better HD graphics and also can turbo to 2.9. So go with current sandybridge gen if possible unless big price difference where you are. Either would be fine for work or school.

But what games would it be able to play with a AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics card (1 gB dedicated memory), and a 2,3 GHz Intel Core i5-2410M processor, and 4 GB DDR3 RAM?

You can see some benchmarks on notebookcheck.com. It is considered a class 3 card so only could play mainstream, low graphics. It's better than integrated but not considered a good card. Depends on what you want to play. I have an i5 in a different laptop and it's relatively quiet and cool. I only have integrated though so maybe find review on your model.
