[Eurogamer] Battlefield 3 PC main menu is battlelog - Page 6

What If I don't want battlelog synchronizing with my Facebook account? what if I don't even have friends? Main Menu R.I.P I for one will miss you. Just because it's groundbreaking and no one else did it before doesn't mean it's good

PS: Preorder is still up I'm playing BF3 even if it's the last thing I do in my life

More?

BF2:
-Launch BF2
-Skip sponsors
-Skip intro
-Log in to EA server
-Choose soldier
-Server browser
-Play game

BC2:
-Launch BC2
-Skip sponsors
-Skip intro
-Click multiplayer "please wait"
-Log into EA servers "please wait"
-Choose soldier
-"Loading stats"
-Server browser
-Play game

BF3:
-Launch BF3
-Log into Battlelog (if browser is set to save details, this step consists of nothing more than pressing "Enter")
-Server browser
-Play game

If BF3s system is THAT troublesome and game breaking, I fail to see how the earlier systems ever made it past day one of their release

I agree that it feels kind of weird in terms of "immersion" (although immersion only matters to me while I'm playing a game, as opposed to entering one), but at the end of the day, its much more responsive and much quicker to actually get into a game then any of the previous methods used and it works.

This.

The battlelog is so simple and quick that people will learn to love it. The server browser is also extremely quick. Much quicker than any in-game server browser I've used.

If you have your browser set to save your log-in details, you could just leave battle log on a separate tab on your browser and click 'play' and that's it. No intros. No sponsors. No log-in, no 'Please wait'.

It just loads up and you're in the server.

Why does nobody read the response of the people that were ACTUALLY in the alpha? Granted, some people didn't like it, but most of you can't even judge if you haven't experienced the system yourself. Also seems more of a DICE decision than an EA decision, and I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. That being said, hope nothing screws up, always nice to see innovation though.

This better let me have more than 20 friends.
And also I hope I don't crash due to alt+tab.
But mainly the first one. If the game has a 20 friend limit, they will need to give me my money back.

Not sure how everyone experience was, but it forced me to launch Origin before I could launch BF3, and refreshing the server list seemed to be painfully slow.

What I don't understand is why are people whining so much? Well I guess they always do, but I haven't seen anything about battlelog that would warrant whining about it. Rumors are that it's much faster than an in-game browser and you can also track your stats while you're at it. I just can't see what the problem is.
It's a new concept. People don't like new things.

I think the whole concept of having everything integrated in one program is how it was meant to be...I don't see the point in having two separate applications. It makes things unnecessarily complicated, even if it's faster.
