That is what bothered me also. Origin is one platform required(?), then Battlelog on the web browser... then play. Why not just have an icon that launches to the battlelog and play from there? No Origin required

Sounds a lot like how Battlefield: Play for free works.

More evidence that developers search diligently for the most retarded human (or not?) specimens to design their UI's.

Alt-tabbing to get to the main menu.

And I thought LoL had the worst launcher/interface...

That's a great idea! Playing the game to be contingent on flimsy browser implementation? Brilliant!

So I'm being sarcastic. This is terrible design. Not only do you need to install Origin, you need to install a browser extension to use Battlelog. Because browser extensions are safe, secure, and stable software components, right?

During Alpha I couldn't launch the game because...well, I dunno why, but the clunky browser interface didn't help me figure it out, and in all likelyhood is the reason the game wouldn't start. The setup is asinine:

Origin -> Browser -> Battlelog -> Game

Any one of the first three fail and your perfectly good game is unplayable. I guess if you trust Dice/EA to offer quick and consistent PC support, this doesn't worry you. But I'm worried.

Good point. BF3 should just be a web app pinned to our Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Bending over assumes that everyone else actually sees it as such a game breaking feature.

They obviously don't.

Would you care to explain exactly what aspect of Battlelog is garbage?
