If you are just playing older games you should be fine. The newer games will need hella more power to get >60 FPS.

I also went from a 60hz TN to an Acer GD235HZ and I love it. Such an amazing difference. As others have said though, gotta have a rig that can keep up with it.

The 120HZ monitor, it's better for the fps games!

If your rig isn't capable of running the games you want to play at more than 60 FPS (preferably 120 FPS) then don't waste your money. Also keep in mind about quality settings. If you have to run the game at it's minimal settings to get high FPS, then it's also not worth it to me.

You will notice a little bit of improvement vs. 60Hz at 60 FPS, but not enough to justify the price.

But if your rig is capable, the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz is like comparing DVD movies to HD. Once you go 120 you won't go back, at least I won't.

I would invest in a more powerful GPU solution before I invested in a 120Hz monitor if I needed both and had to choose one.

In order to utilize the "120hz smoothness" of the 120hz monitor, you need to be able to play games at 100 fps or better.

The 5770 is not that powerful of a card, to be able to do that.

EDIT: beat by above.

i can get another 5770 and crossfire them or something like that
but is it realy necessary ? its kinda good GPU :<

Well, what is your average FPS on games?

Anything over 80 will benefit from 120Hz monitor, other a 60Hz monitor will be fine.

i also read somewhere that ati5770 cards dont work well with the 2233rz at 120hz
do you know if the problem fixed?

i want the best for FPS GAMING
u2311h or 2233rz wich one ?

also i wanna know if ill notice any improvement from my TN 60HZ To 120HZ 2233RZ/DELL u2311h?
The best 120Hz TN panel, then grab the Planar SA2311W. It produces nearly 100% of the adobe spectrum while maintaining 120Hz as well.

However, it is going to cost you. A 5850 isn't even enough to get the best out of a 120hz panel while at 1600x900 let alone 1920x1080.
