Yes but the top one will very likely be starved for air, I'd go with a two slot monster 580 like the Lightning or the EVGA Classified whenever that comes out.

Yes, but as juano said, the top card will suffer a little bit but not that much. Peeps SLI reference design since age while having less air the breath than these matrix will.

The card is 2 and 3/4 SLOT. Will breath correctly.

That's what I used to think as well, that both the exceptional cooling on the DCII and the fact that it's only 2 3/4 slots would add up to still great temps, but since then I've seen too many people having temperature problems with them or other triple slot coolers right on top of each other like the AXP. Now I recommend trying to maintain a whole slot of air between cards even if it means sacrificing on what would other wise be your first choice.

Unfortunately this realization came shortly after I myself changed from an Asus DCII 570 to a 580 Lightning, so to outside observers it just looks like I'm a fanboy that will only recommend whatever card he has.

Your right Juano.

If the OP have great case airflow, wich we really dont know and we all know that LOTS of people "think" they have good airflow but dont ..... the lightning with a full slot in between the cards is a better idea.

I know, glad you were able to see the light.

JK, like I said I used to think the same thing, but seeing more than a few people having to go to drastic means like this to keep them fed with air changed my opinion.

Its winter here and I have 3 windows open, and I have a electric fan sitting on the windowsill sucking cold air from outside pushing it into my room
