Need a new Camera for F1 - Page 2

Thanks. 20-40 meters would be perfect. You should be able to get plenty of good shots at that distance.

Cool. What size lens would you recommend for that distance ones previously mentioned or?
I say a 24-70mm mid zoom, and a 70-200mm long zoom would be great. Hope you are good at panning! F1 cars are going to be moving by in a major hurry!!

One big problem with DSLR's. Lenses! They are expensive... and hold their value. The big glass on fast lenses lets you control depth of field. Compact cameras take that away with their small lenses. Big glass will also speed up the shutter. Good for action shots.

I'd still go for something that gives you 200mm of reach. The more of the car you can get in the frame the better your photos will turn out in the end because there will be less need for cropping when you're editing them.

Cheers mate. I've been practising my panning with my girl friend's brother's DSLR but it's hard to find fast moving objects where I live. I've got a few months to go before the GP so I'll practice with my very own soon enough.
