High temps on 955be loop

Thread Starter
Hi guys. I think there is something up with my loop and temps are abnormally high.
I am running a 955be @ 4Ghz/2.72Ghz . Vcore is 1.5V/1.35V
My loop consist of a Xspc Rasa block, Rx240 push + Rx120 P/p and a MCP655 + Xspc D5 Tank. Rx240 is mounted on top while the rx120 is mounted at the back
Using the stock fans that came with my rasa Rs240 Kit. And a Scythe Slipstream 140mm Push + Ap-14 Pull
My loop goes like this : Mcp655 + Res > RX240 > Cpu > RX120 and back to the pump.
On idle. I idle @ 42C @ 1.52v. Ambient temperature is @ 30C
Will update the load temp after I prime it.

i dont know much about water cooling but i have a 965be and have oced it to 4ghz before and it idled at 30c with good room temps i keep it at 3.7 and it idles at 27c this is all with a air cooler 212+ push pull,,,so ya id say ur temps are pretty high,,,and at 3.7 my voltage is 1.25 all day n stable im surprised how low u can keep voltage on phenom2 and b stable

30c is a high ambient. I think your loop is doing the best it can.

With all of the info you gave, your temps seem as good as it will get with what you have.

I have similar ambient temperatures to you, 30C+. Don't expect your loop to be getting miraculous results like you see around here. Water cooling depends a lot on your ambient temperature too; that's how hot the air is that's passing through your radiator fins.

Mine is a 955. The 965 is better binned and without adding voltage. I can load @ 45~ or less @ 3.8ghz

Hmm, Maybe I was expecting too much on my loop. It did wonders on my 2500k but not the 955.

What he didnt mention is that he is crazy cause he just traded the above system for a nice 2500K @ 4.8 system.
