Okay. I combined the female ends of two 3-pin extension cables. So now I have a female-female 3-pin fan cable. I tried testing the cable by plugging one end into the power port (with fans plugged in), and the other end into a 3-pin to molex adapter, then directly to a test psu. Seems like my cable isn't working becuase right when I plug the molex end into the psu, the psu shuts off. Sounds/looks like a short...???
I used these red wire combiners instead of soldering, or using electrical tape. Maybe that's the problem, and is what is causing the short...???
Should I try using electrical tape, and/or soldering?
BTW, LukaTCE, I took off the backing anyways (since I'm troubleshooting at this point), and your diagram of the PCB is correct, except, there is another circuit to connect the yellow wire inputs as well. So 3 circuits instead of 2.
